DISCIDIUM- POTESTATEM

Discidium (Latin for separation) is common to human life and shapes it more often than not. And there is ample proof that every Discidium has a Potestatem (Latin for opportunity) attached to it.

Discidium may be painful at times, but leads to great opportunities. The infant leaves the womb of the mother to embrace life and new relationships. The child then grows and leaves adolescence for adulthood and as he/she further progresses discidium and potestatem go hand in hand.

Recently, I too have experienced discidium from an institution which I held dear. An institution which helped me grow into a decent enough professional and made me learn my trade. It gave me an identity which I cherished. It gave me authority which made me strong and humble,  and it gave me a sense of vision which made me ambitious and hopeful for a great future. The institution made me a man out of a scrappy young bloke, just out of the blocks.

However after almost 24 years of engagement, discidium struck and we have parted ways. But the training of all these years will surely hold me in good stead as I embark on a different journey to the potestatem which has come my way. The pangs of separation notwithstanding, the host of opportunities to follow are something to look forward to.

The potestatem thus appears interesting and hugely enticing. I am gearing myself to meet these opportunities and make the best of it. The atmosphere is so positive, because as I write this blog, Neeraj Chopra has won Gold for India. This is so very inspiring and gives us huge hope.

Lets dig deep and believe in our abilities… I am trying too.

  1. Sometimes the working environment of even a renowned institution is viciating to an extent that one find positivity and solace in anything that one derive post separation .It’s advisable to choose positivity rather embrace negativity by continuing to be part of such institution .. wen u nurture ur passion it opens ways for tremendous opportunities which were left unexplored since long ..

  2. Very well articulated Rizwan. Change is the only constant in life. Happy that you are embracing change with a positive attitude. Best wishes
