Winners all the way

PV Sindhu, Mirabai Chanu, Lovlina Borgohain, The Women’s Hockey Team, Kamalpreet Kaur have not only made India proud with their performances in the ongoing Olympic Games, but have yet again proved that women folk are a force to reckon with. 

These super athletes join an illustrious list of achievers viz PT Usha, Mary Kom, Saina Nehwal, Sania Mirza in the sports category along with Kalpana Chawla, Sunita Williams, Indra Nooyi, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and several others in various fields  who too have brought in fame and pride to the Indian populace.

This illustrious list would be incomplete without the several Mothers, sisters and daughters not only in India but across the world, who work relentlessly to shape the society and take a nation forward. Their role is immense and critical to the cause of the human race and its their hardwork, pain and sacrifice that leads to Champions who eventually bring glory to a nation.

Women, as I have seen are tenacity, patience, grit, focus, humility and compassion personified. Its a combination which in my opinion is exclusive to this gender and this is the reason why, if given an opportunity, women shine in whatever field they are, more often than not.  

Right from their birth, the female gender has several roles to play, which they do with elan, without ever compromising on the quality of their performance. Such is their determination and commitment to whatever they do.  However, we still see instances of deprivation, bias, abuse and vilification against them, which is extremely unfortunate and unbecoming of a civilised society. 

We should be proud of all the women around us. Without a bias, I see them as better equipped than men. Men may have more brawn, but the women can bear life, which in itself puts them on a pedestal higher than men. 

Truly they are winners all the way and make all the men proud… every day!!
