Sakamoto Days Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix in January 2027. The action comedy follows a retired legendary hitman who now runs a convenience store. Here is what is confirmed about the release, cast and story.
Release Date and Where to Watch
Netflix confirmed on June 24, 2026 that Season 2 will return in January 2027, exclusively on Netflix worldwide. A specific premiere date inside that window has not been announced. Season 1 is also on Netflix, with 22 episodes across two cours that aired from January to September 2025.
What Is the Story About?
Taro Sakamoto gave up killing after falling in love, but old enemies and former colleagues keep coming for him. Season 2 adapts the JCC Infiltration Arc from Yuto Suzuki’s manga. Sakamoto and his young ally Shin go undercover at JCC, an assassin training school. Teaser art shows Sakamoto holding a pen, which is the weapon he is randomly assigned in the entrance exam.
Cast and New Characters
- Taro Sakamoto, voiced by Tomokazu Sugita in Japanese.
- Shin Asakura, voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki.
- Lu Shaotang, voiced by Ayane Sakura.
Natsuki Seba and Akira Akao return from Season 1. New faces include Amane, a top student with ill feelings toward the Assassin’s Alliance, Satota, the longest-serving teacher at JCC who once trained Sakamoto, and Yotsumura, one of the mysterious founding members of ORDER.
Who Is Making It?
TMS Entertainment returns, but there is a change at the top. Daisuke Nakajima directs, with Masaki Watanabe, the Season 1 director, now supervising. Taku Kishimoto handles series composition, Yo Moriyama designs the characters and Yuki Hayashi composes the music.
What to Expect
The manga’s mix of slapstick comedy and sharp action is the series’ appeal, and an infiltration story lets both sides shine. Season 1 adapted about 75 chapters, so Season 2 starts with plenty of manga left to cover. Until a date is announced, treat any specific day as speculation.
