Spain Win 3-2 Against England At Wembley

World Champions Spain continued their unbeaten run with a comeback 3-2 win against England in the UEFA Nations League Tie at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London last night.

England Falter As Spain Have forgotten to Lose

Spain, as always just found a way to win. England on the other hand had a great chance to avenge the Euro 2024 loss, but faltered when they were required to be steadfast. Losing from positions of strength is a problem with England, while Spain have forgotten how to lose.

Lamine Yamal Draws First Blood With A Mighty Steal

Lamine Yamal stole the ball from Marc Guehi and scored for Spain in the 2nd minute. The error left Guehi embarrassed as a dumbstruck Wembley looked on. It was indeed a terrible mistake from the Manchester City defender, and England paid the price.

Spain Dominate The Initial Half Hour, But England Prevent Further Damage

Spain were fluent to start with. La Roja played beautifully and put the English defence to the sword. Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal made life difficult for the English, but some poor finishing from Spain and a bit of English luck denied the Spaniards.

Brilliant Gordon and Harry Kane Give England The Lead Against The Run of Play

England were soaking up the pressure before Anthony Gordon made a brilliant run and scored with an incredible finish. England had squared up the match in the 36th minute, against the run of play. Four minutes later, Harry Kane headed England’s second from an O’Reilly cross, with the ball deflecting into the Spanish goal off Cucurella. The match had turned in just 4 minutes and England went into the break with a one goal advantage.

But Kane Misses A Penalty And Spain Make England Pay

There was more drama to come as Wembley got solidly behind the English. A Rodri foul led to a penalty. England needed to score to get some daylight between them and Spain, but Harry Kane hit the crossbar, and a great opportunity to get further ahead in the game was missed, and Spain made England pay.

A Baena Ripper & An Oyarzabal Cooler Finish England

In the 60th minute Alex Baena sent a brilliant curler into the English goal to square it off and then Oyarzabal ( his late winner in 2024 and defeated England) ensured a cool finish from a brilliant move to make it 3-2 in the 74th minute. England faced another Oyarzabal killer.

Spain Hold Their Nerves To Win

Spain held on for the next half hour to deny England as disappointed England fans watched their team go down in utter dismay. Spain were the favourites but England yet again let it slip when they really had to buckle down.

Can England Turn The Tables in the Reverse Fixture?

The reverse fixture will be held in Spain on the 15th of November 2026. Can England turn the tables on the Spaniards? It would be interesting to see.
