The Stake Sale
Kingdom Holding Company, chaired by Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, officially completed the acquisition of a 70% majority stake in Al-Hilal Club on September 1, 2026.
The Massive Deal
Kingdom Holding purchased the stake from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund ( PIF) for a whopping SAR 840 m, equivalent to $224m, placing Al-Hilal’s total enterprise value at approximately SAR 1.4 B ( $373 m). PIF will continue to hold a 30% minority stake in Al-Hilal.

A Step For The Future of Saudi Football
The takeover completes an agreement signed in April 2026, advancing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative to privatise national sports clubs, drive commercial growth, and attract private capital into the Saudi Pro League.
