In a message loaded with emotions, nostalgia and thanksgiving, Lionel Messi announced his retirement from National duties two hours ago.

The legend, unparalleled in football history, had written his retirement statement on 21st July 2026, two days after the World Cup Final. But he released it only today, after the death of his father, Jorge Messi, on 7th August 2026, further strengthening his conviction to retire from the Argentine Team.
