France, without doubt, were the clear favourites as Spain virtually reached the Semis, much under the radar and without the limelight. The shutterbugs and the critics had taken a fancy to the flamboyant French, as the Spaniards slowly but steadily moved up the ladder.

Lamine Yamal, with just one goal in the tournament, netted one in a superb solo effort, only to be adjudged offside. The French, on the other hand, continued to struggle, and though they won a few corners in the end, a goal never looked in sight. The incredibly talented French forward line had come a cropper.

The match ended with Spain rejoicing no end. It was their 6th clean sheet in 7 games. France, who had been sensational right through the tournament, were a dejected lot.
