The Man From Al-Hofuf
Born in Al-Hofuf in the Al-Ahsa Governate, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, known for being the largest Date-producing area, Mohammad Al-Owais started his football career in 2012 with Al-Shabab.
From Al-Shabab to Al-Ula
The tall goalkeeper learned his craft at Al-Shabab and then moved to Al-Ahli in 2017, where he was further chiselled into a fine player. After putting in 5 years with Al-Ahli, Al-Owais was signed by Al-Hilal in 2022, before moving to Al-Ula in 2025.
Al-Owais Made his Mark Against Argentina at the 2022 World Cup
Al-Owais gained popularity with a memorable performance against Argentina in the 2022 World Cup, where he denied Argentina and ensured that Saudi Arabia emerged victorious against the eventual Champions. His performance against Uruguay in the ongoing World Cup brought back memories of his achievements four years ago.

Al-Owais stood like a wall in front of his goal, blocking everything that was thrown at him from all angles and distances. He leapt to his right and to his left, stretching every muscle in his body to keep his goal safe. Even his fingertips were up to it in denying the rampant South Americans.
