Preview: Group C Action Begins With A Brazil vs Morocco Cracker

Brazil face Morocco in a Group C clash
The MetLife Stadium Is All Set to Host Brazil vs Morocco

The MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is all prepped up to host one of the most exciting contests in Group C. Brazil will take on Morocco, the Atlas Lions, in a cracker of a game on Sunday, June 14 at 3.30 am IST.

Morocco, A Force to Reckon With

Morocco, the semi-finalists at the Qatar World Cup in 2022, and also the AFCON Champions ( officially), are no longer the upcoming team from Northern Africa but now are a force to reckon with. In a clean qualifying, during which the Atlas Lions were undefeated, Morocco are a tough team to face in Group C, and Brazil will have to play to the best of their abilities to thwart Moroccan game plans.

Brazil Had A Rocky Qualification Campaign…

Brazil did not have a very smooth qualifying campaign and stood 5th in the order of merit in the CONMEBOL standings. The campaign was rocky to say the least, but Brazil sealed a World Cup berth with a 1-0 win over Paraguay under coach Carlo Ancelotti.

… But The Selecao Are Gunning For The Title

The World Cup trophy has eluded the Brazilians for 24 years, and the Selecao will be gunning for it, without a doubt. The Atlas Lions, on the other hand, would be looking to go a couple of steps further, vis-à-vis their performance at the last World Cup. It is going to be a tight match and a nervy affair.

Achraf Halimi vs Vinicius Jr Is A Much Awaited Match Up

Achraf Hakimi, one of the best right-backs in the world, will have the tear-away, pacy Vinicius Jr in front of him in a much-anticipated matchup. Brahim Diaz for the Atlas Lions will be up against a strong Brazilian defence led by Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhaes, in another exciting match-up.

Raphina Will Be Up Against Mazraoui

Raphina, with his incredible goal-scoring skills, adds that edge to the Brazilian squad. But with Noussair Mazraoui firmly entrenched in the Moroccan defence, Raphina will not find it easy. The battle in the midfield is exciting with Casemiro and Lucas Paqueta against El Khannous and the very experienced Amrabat.

Brazilians Have Looked Good In Warm Ups

The Brazilians, however, had two successful warm-up games, beating Panama 6-2 and Egypt 2-1, while Morocco drew 1-1 against Norway.

It is Going to be A Nervy Affair. Risky to Call

The Selecao will always have the edge before any game they play, and this is no different against Morocco. But of course, the Atlas Lions have the ability to surprise Brazil. The fate of the match is not sealed yet. It is far from it.
