Tupras Stadium, Istanbul, To Host Europa League Final
The Tupras Stadium in Istanbul, the home of Turkish Club Besiktas, is all set to host the final of the Europa League between England’s Aston Villa and Germany’s SC Freiburg tonight, in what is expected to be an exciting affair.
For Aston Villa, The Day has arrived after 44 years
It is a day to remember for Aston Villa as they are playing a European competition final after a gap of 44 years, which speaks of the achievement the Club has made under the brilliant stewardship of Spanish Manager Unai Emery, for whom this is going to be his 6th Europa League Final.
Freiburg Are First Timers in the Final
For SC Freiburg, the occasion is even bigger. This is their first-ever Europa League Final, and it has to be said that the Germans have displayed some steely resolve to come this far. For the past decade, Freiburg have been regular in the Bundesliga and stood 7th on the table this season.
The Breisgau Brazilians Are No Easy Meat
Freiburg, known as the Breisgau Brazilians, coached by Julian Schuster, are not going to be easy opponents for the more fancied Villans. The Breisgauers handed a 4-1 pasting to RB Leipzig a few days ago and look good up front. Vincenzo Grifo will lead the attack for Freiburg, in the company of the quick 20-year-old Johan Manzambi, Beste and Matanovic. Mathias Ginter, the centre-back, will hold fort for Freiburg. The Germans have nothing to lose and will go all out for the title.
Aston Villa Are Blessed To Have Unai Emery
Aston Villa will have Unai Emery’s experience in the Europa Finals. He has won 3 with Sevilla and 1 with Villarreal and is considered by many to be an expert in the Europa League Finals. But Villa have a terrific team too with Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers, Buendia and captain McGinn in the ranks. Not to forget Emi Martinez, one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The Villans indeed have all the boxes ticked and are favourites to lift the Cup.
A Turkish Delight Tonight
It is going to be yet another European delight in Istanbul tonight.
