Thomas Frank Sacked As Tottenham’s Downward Slide Continues

Thomas Frank sacked

It was inevitable. The writing was on the wall. The bad news was coming and so it arrived. Tottenham Hotspur sacked their Manager Thomas Frank after the Spurs lost to Newcastle 1-2 and slipped to 16th position in the EPL,   in a precarious turns of events for the London Club.

With just 8 months incharge of Tottenham, Thomas Frank, who came in with a massive reputation after his brilliant 8 year stint with Brentford, fell away with the Spurs’ management for good.

The results were just not going Tottenham’s way and even though, the club made it to the top 8 in the UEFA Champions League, the performance at home, in the all important English Premier League, went from bad to worse.

With just 7 wins in 26 games in the EPL, Tottenham have had a poor season. 11 losses and 8 draws haven’t helped either. A growing list of injuries has further aggravated an already jittery team. Without Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, the team lacks firepower upfront and with Richarlison continuing to underperform and now injured, the dynamics of the team has been greatly affected. With captain Romero, Bentancur, James Maddison, Kulusevski and Kudus, all injured, Thomas Frank was besieged by some misfortune.

Tottenham, however, still had to respond and should have shown more grit and determination to wriggle out of the present problems. Thomas Frank unfortunately, could not get his side to do that and paid the price.

A Manager with such incredible capabilities, unfortunately, had to depart this way, which is indeed a sad situation. I am sure this miserable stint of Thomas Frank will not affect his career, because the Dane is indeed a very fine Manager and has proved his worth beyond doubt.

It is just that Tottenham didn’t click with Thomas Frank.
