A determined Ruben Amorim is slowly getting his act together. The improvements were clearly visible as Manchester United impressed with a 4-1 win over a beleaguered and woeful Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The win pushed Manchester United to 6th position on the EPL table after Match Day 15 culminated last night at the Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton. Tied at 25 points with Chelsea, the Red Devils were only behind the Blues on goal difference.
United Captain Bruno Fernandes was in sublime form as he scored a brace and had an assist to his name, to make sure United garnered all 3 points. Mbeumo, who has been such a revelation in a Red Devils shirt, scored United’s second goal. Mason Mount, who has been in good form too, scored the third, and Bruno rounded off with a late penalty.
Wolves scored their first goal in well over a month and extended their losing streak to 9 games. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde got one through the United defence but the Wolves remained poor in defence and toothless in attack, representing a pale shadow of their teams in the past. It is not surprising but terribly disappointing to see the Wolves without a win in 15 games in the EPL this season, and a turnaround looks extremely hypothetical.
For Manchester United, a team which is loaded with talent, the performance against Wolves will give them confidence as they host plucky Bournemouth next week at Old Trafford. A win there would make things interesting in the top half of the EPL table.
The Wolves are heading towards relegation in no uncertain terms, and only a miracle can save them.
