Nottingham Forest Win After 10 Games As Sean Dyche Debuts

Nottingham Win After 10 games

Sean Dyche proved to be a lucky mascot for Nottingham Forest, as the Tricky Trees eventually managed to win a game after 10 consecutive tries in all competitions. In doing so, the beleaguered Forest’s team scaled another record. They won their first game in a European Competition after a gap of 30 years. All this coming at the cost of FC Porto at the City Ground in Nottingham, on Match Day 3 of the Europa League.

It was Sean Dyche’s first match as Manager, appointed after the unceremonious sacking of Ange Postecoglou. Dyche, an experienced Manager with a proven record and known for his brutal passion for the game and a no-nonsense demeanour, ensured his side displayed intent, a zeal to compete and win.

Skipper Gibbs-White and striker Jesus converted a penalty each to end Nottingham’s 10-game winless streak and FC Porto’s unbeaten start to the season.

Sean Dyche, who had a long tenure with Burnley and then a couple of years with Everton, received a warm welcome from the Nottingham fans. A good match was anticipated, and so it happened. The Tricky Trees’ intensity and physicality in the match underlined the team’s desperation to break the damming sequence of events.

The victory was received with huge applause. It was more of a relief and a strengthening of faith. Dyche looked satisfied with his team’s performance and was visibly pleased with the result.

A lot of confidence from this victory will be required as Nottingham travel to Bournemouth to face the Cherries in a crucial Premier League encounter at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday evening. A win for Nottingham will be a big boost for their prospects in the EPL, while a loss might sink them further into the relegation abyss.

A Test for Sean Dyche awaits.
