PSG – Just A Step Away From Glory
Paris Saint-Germain ( PSG), the Champions of French Ligue 1 and the winners of the UEFA Champions League this year, are just a game away from being crowned Club World Cup Champions.
Scintillating PSG
PSG ‘s scintillating football was too good for Real Madrid, the celebrated giants of Spain and arguably the most decorated club in Europe. Coached by Luis Enrique, PSG has transformed into a force to reckon with and going into the finals against Chelsea, they would start as favourites.
Fabian Ruiz & Dembele Score Early Against Real Madrid
Real Madrid had no clues as the Spaniards were completely overwhelmed by the French. In the first 9 minutes, Fabian Ruiz scored from a fine move and then the man who is at the peak of his powers, Ousmane Dembele, produced a fine solo run. He dispossessed Rudiger (one of the best central defenders in the world) and then sped away to score. Rudiger just unable to catch up with Dembele’s pace. It was indeed a super finish from the Frenchman.
Brilliant Courtois Prevents Further Damage for Real
Courtois, Real Madrid’s exceptional goalkeeper, had earlier made two splendid saves to deny PSG, but the French Club just kept the pressure on to get 2-0 ahead in no time.
Fabian Ruiz Scores His Second As PSG Dominate
Fabian Ruiz scored his second in the 24th minute to make it 3-0, virtually pushing Real out of the game. The Spanish Club was tied in knots. A team boasting of Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, and Luka Modric struggled big time to get any sort of space in the field, while PSG were brilliant with their counters, deft passing, and skilful control of the ball.
Goncalo Ramos Hammers The Final Nail
Goncalo Ramos, the young Portuguese striker for PSG added a 4th to the scoreline with a seamless finish in front of goal. The mauling of Real Madrid had been completed with a 4-0 pasting.
PSG Were Far Ahead
The stats said it all. PSG held 69% of the possession, had 7 shots on goal as compared to Real’s meagre 31% possession and only 2 shots on goal. Mbappe, Bellingham and Vinicius Jr were completely ineffective for Real, while PSG’s Fabian Ruiz, Dembele, Desire Doue and Achraf Hakimi had a great game.
PSG To Meet Chelsea in the Final
PSG will clash with Chelsea for the FIFA Club World Cup Trophy, and no wonder Chelsea have been playing well, PSG shall start as favourites at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
