Ind vs Eng Day 4: Rishabh Pant, India’s Talisman
Rishabh Pant is on a record-breaking spree—or rather, a record-setting spree—as the stocky entertainer once again played a remarkable knock in Headingley. KL Rahul, India’s mainstay, enjoying the hefty responsibility on his shoulders, was exquisitely brilliant in scoring his 9th Test ton.

Rahul & Pant Put India in Command
Both Rahul and Pant put India in a commanding position at the end of Day 4, and though England fought back by polishing off the Indian tail quite quickly, India still have their noses in front, and English batters will have to play out of their skins to save or win this test match.
Pant’s Second Ton Of The Match
Pant fought hard on the pitch against England and himself as he curbed his natural instincts to build a decisive partnership with Rahul. Once he felt assured of the situation, he donned his aggressive avatar to punish the England bowlers. His 118 of 140 balls studded with 15 fours and 3 sixes would go down as one of Pant’s finest innings. His partnership with Rahul of a massive 195 runs might just be the turning point of this match.
Rahul’s Exquisite Display
KL Rahul was unrelenting and determined to take India to an impregnable position. His 137 was pure class and though there was a minor blip when he was dropped by Harry Brook at gully, Rahul’s knock was brilliant to the core.
Clueless England Fight It Out
England appeared clueless when Rahul and Pant were batting but hung on, and once the duo left, they mopped up India’s tail in no time. Josh Tongue, ‘The Mop’ as he is referred to, took 3 wickets in one over before Jadeja struck a few blows to take India to 364, setting a target of 371 for England to chase. Earlier, Brydon Carse bowled brilliantly while Chris Woakes eventually managed to get his first and only wicket in the entire match.
