Saudi Pro League Season 25-26 Gets Underway In August
The Saudi Pro League, also known as Roshn Saudi League (RSL) will begin their 2025-26 season from Thursday, the 28th August 2025. 18 Teams would compete for the coveted title, which was won by Karim Benzema-led Al-Ittihad last season. Neom, Al-Najma, and Al-Hazem are the new entrants in place of the relegated Al-Raed, Al-Orobah, and Al-Wehda.
Neom – The First Timers
Neom were crowned First Division Champions, after they beat Jeddah 6-0 on April 29, 2025, which confirmed their promotion to Saudi Pro League, under their Brazilian Manager Pericles Chamusca. It was a historic moment in the journey of Neom Sports Club, which was renamed in 2023 from the erstwhile Al-Suqoor. Neom SC from Tabuk Province would embrace top-flight Saudi Football for the first time and also become the second team from Tabuk after Al-Watani made it to the Pro League in 2007.
Al-Hazem – Return After A 1-Year Break
Al-Hazem from Ar Rass would be returning to the Pro League after a year of absence only. The Club had been relegated after the 23-24 season, but has made it back to top flight football under their Tunisian Manager Jalel Kadri.
Al-Najma – First Season In Pro League Era
Al-Najma, the Club from Unaizah managed by the Portuguese Mario Silva, will be returning to top-flight football after being relegated in 2002-03. However, this would be their first season in the Pro League Era.
An Interesting Season Awaits.
