RCB vs Punjab Kings : The IPL Final Where History Beckons

RCB vs Punjab Kings -IPL Final

RCB vs Punjab: A Cracker On The Cards

Finally, the Indian Premier League (IPL) Final has arrived. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in what will be a historic final in Ahmedabad later this evening. A cracker of a game is on the cards, and though it is a weekday, the occasion deserves focus.

RCB  Have The Edge Over Punjab, Many Say

As many have analysed, RCB might have the edge over Punjab, particularly after the mauling Punjab received at the hands of RCB in Qualifier-1, not so long ago. RCB had gatecrashed into the Final after that victory. However, I have a slightly different take on the matter.

RCB Are Looking Good & Kohli Wants It

RCB look good with the return of Hazlewood, the form of Phil Salt and Jitesh Sharma, and also with the consistency of Virat and Suyash Sharma. They have failed thrice before in the finals and would be more than desperate to make amends tonight. For Virat Kohli too, he has waited long enough to lift the glittering trophy, and in the twilight of his career, the IPL crown is the one that eludes him. RCB would be motivated to the brim and would be gunning for the Championship no doubt.

Young Punjab Kings Are No Pushovers Either

Punjab Kings on the other hand, are a young side but with lots of flair. The opening pair of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran have been a revelation ( though they have not come good in the playoffs, which might worry Punjab), Josh Inglis has hit a rich vein of form, and Nehal Wadhera has proved how good he is with his brilliant stroke play. Punjab’s bowling looks decent too, with Jamieson, Arshdeep, Chahal, and Harpreet Brar in good rhythm.

Shreyas Iyer May Tilt The Balance in Punjab’s Favour

RCB and Punjab look to be on an even keel, but there is just a tilt in favour of Punjab. Shreyas Iyer, Punjab’s captain, is the difference between the two sides. He has been too good not only with the bat but also with his captaincy and the way he has shepherded the team. He looks stoic and resilient. The body language exudes purpose and intent. There is an underlying tenacity in his approach, and his batting has been sublime even under pressure.

RCB Would Be Wary Of Shreyas

Shreyas’ innings against Mumbai in the Qualifier-2 will go down as one of the best captains’ knocks in the history of the tournament. What a way to lead from the front. RCB would be wary of Shreyas, and he would have occupied a large share of tactical discussions for the Bengaluru side.

RCB vs Punjab: May The Best Win

A victory for RCB would be a deserved culmination of 18 years of Virat Kohli’s labour and patience. Millions in the country want him to win, just that a young brigade led by a missionary captain stands in his way.

What a game it is going to be!!
