Indian Team Announced For England Series-Shubhman To Lead

The BCCI selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, announced the Indian Squad, to be led by Shubhman Gill, for the upcoming 5-Match Test Series in England earlier today.

Shubhman To Lead, Rishabh His Deputy

Shubham Gill has been appointed the Captain for the series, with Rishabh  Pant to be his deputy. While Sai Sudharsan, who has been batting brilliantly in the ongoing IPL, was an automatic choice, Karun Nair has notably been given an opportunity after being in the wilderness for 8 long years. Unfortunately, Sarfaraz Khan and Harshit Rana have been dropped from the squad that toured Australia. Shreyas Iyer, too, with his current form, was a surprise exclusion.

Mohd Shami did not find a place in the team due to his injury struggles, while Arshdeep Singh, the Punjab left-arm seamer, has been given a chance to adorn the Test cap. Shardul Thakur too finds a place in the squad.

The Team is as follows:-

Shubhman Gill (c), Rishabh Pant (vc & wk), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, B Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav.
