Bayern Munich’s Dominance Unprecedented
If the Munich Club crossed the line, which is a mere formality, the club would win their 12th title (34th overall) in 13 years. The statistics are staggering. The dominance is unprecedented. The consistency is unimaginable.
A Hiccup Last Year…
Bayern had a slight hiccup last year when Bayer Leverkusen rode a sensational campaign and won the Bundesliga without losing a single game. The Bavarians have turned the tables this year and have a stranglehold on the Championship, which they have a habit of holding.
… But Staggering Stats This Year
The performance this year by Bayern is nothing short of sensational. Of the 31 games played so far, they have won 23 games, drawn 6, and lost just 2, with 75 points. A total of 90 goals have been scored by them, which is phenomenal. Leverkusen, second on the leaderboard, have scored 66 only. The goal difference of 61 as compared to only 31 for Leverkusen goes to show how stingy Bayern have been in conceding goals.
Harry Kane- A Blessing
It goes without saying that Bayern have played out of their skins this year. Harry Kane, with 24 goals, is topping the goal-scoring charts once again, a repeat of last year. He has been brilliant for Bayern in all competitions, and though Bayern lost out to Inter Milan in the Champions League quarter-finals, Harry Kane has been a blessing for Bayern Munich in keeping their supremacy alive and kicking in the Bundesliga.
Rise Of Olise
The rise of Michael Olise too has been a terrific intercession for Bayern. He tops the charts with 12 assists, the highest by any player in the Bundesliga. Performances of Leroy Sane, Kimmich and Gnabry have been a great support for Bayern. And not to forget the contribution of Vincent Kompany, the young Belgian Manager, who has brought all his experience as a winner and player, to the club.
