Barcelona vs Real Madrid in Seville: A Great Contest
Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville witnessed one of the most dramatic Copa Del Rey Finals last night. Barcelona and Real Madrid, the two giant clubs of Spain and the world, clashed in Seville for the umpteenth time. The Catalans have had an upper hand over the Los Blancos of late, but the clash was billed to be a great one and it lived up to its hype and expectations.
Barcelona Draw First Blood As Pedri Strikes
Pedri drew first blood for Barcelona as the young midfielder, from a fine assist from Lamine Yamal, produced a screamer of a strike to beat Courtois to his right. Lamine Yamal had made the move from the right and as the Real Madrid defenders got sucked into him, he passed on to Pedri with acres of space to strike and so he did in an ecstatic finish.
Real Madrid Respond Thru Mbappe & Tchouameni
At the break, Barca were ahead, but Real Madrid came back strongly in the second half and peppered the Barcelona box. Eventually, Mbappe, showcasing his striking ability, scored in the 70th minute in a sublime finish. 7 minutes later, Aurelien Tchouameni, the young Frenchman, headed Real Madrid’s second goal to put the Los Blancos ahead. But Barcelona responded.
Ferran Torres Scores For Barca To Draw Level
Another fine assist from Lamine Yamal gave Ferran Torres an opening as he got past Courtois ( caught in no man’s land), got the better of Rudiger and put the ball safely in the open net in the 84th minute. The teams were tied 2-2 and the match went into extra-time.
Kounde Wins It For Barcelona In Extra Time As Jaded Real Madrid Falter
Barcelona were the more aggressive in extra time as Real Madrid appeared jaded and tired, they had surrendered the lead, which was probably playing on the minds of the Los Blancos. A loss in concentration from Real Madrid led the ball to the feet of Jules Kounde, Barca’s French defender, who shot the ball to the right of Courtois in a brilliant finish, the clock reading 116th minute. Barca fans were in raptures as Real Madrid protested to no avail. Barcelona held on to the lead and won the match with the slightest of margins.
Red Cards For Rudiger, Vasquez & Bellingham As Real Madrid Lose Match & Temper
In a dramatic finish Real Madrid’s Rudiger, Vasquez and Bellingham were Red Carded in an ill-tempered end to the El Classico. The match had it’s fair share of rough edges. A total of 34 fouls were committed and 7 yellow cards given along with the 3 Reds in the end. Unfortunately the match left a bad taste with Real Madrid appearing as temperamental losers.
