Manchester United Hold Arsenal
Manchester United played one of their better games when they took on Arsenal at Old Trafford in a crunch encounter, more so for the Gunners than for the hosts. In doing so, United handed a favour to Liverpool, by sharing the spoils with Arsenal.
Gunners Lose Valuable Points
The Gunners lost valuable points yet again and in their last 3 games in the EPL, they have secured just 2 points against 9 by Liverpool. The draw at Old Trafford has pushed Arsenal a step back in the title race with Liverpool.
Bruno’s Majestic Free-kick
A majestic free-kick by the hard-working Bruno Fernandes gave Manchester United the lead at the stroke of half-time. The Portuguese has been carrying the burden of the team, giving his best at all times. To be fair to Bruno he has given it all but the lack of support from other players has been the problem at United.
Arsenal Not Threatening Enough
Arsenal, though, had much more possession and more shots on goal as compared to United, they did not look threatening enough, and had it not been for David Raya, Arsenal would have suffered.
Raya & Rice Help Arsenal Snatch A Point
Raya, Arsenal’s brilliant goalkeeper displayed tremendous anticipation and reflexes to stall United. He saved at least two clear chances and the hosts would certainly be thinking about them. Raya saved the blues for Arsenal and then Declan Rice produced a well directed strike to get the match on level terms in the 74th minute. There were no stoppage time dramas and the match ended in a 1-1 deadlock.
Liverpool’s Lead Looks Ominous
Manchester United occupied the 14th position on the leaderboard while Arsenal were 2nd, 15 points behind Liverpool and though they have a game in hand, Liverpool’s lead looks ominous.
