Al Nassr ‘s Columbian Power
Two brilliant goals from the young Columbian Jhon Duran and a cool as it gets penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo, saw Al Nassr conquer Iranian Club Esteghlal FC at the Al Awwal Park in Riyadh. The first leg played out in Tehran was a goalless affair. With the 3-0 win Al Nassr qualified for the Quarter Finals of the AFC Champions League Elite Competition.
Hosseini Gives It Away As Duran Capitalises
Hosseini, Esteghlal’s goalkeeper who had been brilliant in the first leg, mistakenly gave away the ball to Jhon Duran just outside the box. Duran cleverly lobbed the ball over Hosseini, who caught in no man’s land just could not stop the ball from floating over his head and into his goal. It was a brilliant strike in the 9th minute from Duran decorated with great anticipation and precision.
Ronaldo Scores A Penalty… Yet Again
Ronaldo was into the action too. His brilliant back heel pass to Sadio Mane resulted in a penalty as Mane was brought down. Ronaldo, the legend converted with utmost ease, almost embarrassing the goalkeeper, in the 27th minute.
Duran Completes A Brace For Al Nassr
Duran scored his second goal of the night in the 84th minute to put the match completely beyond Esteghlal. His fine finish from the right flank on a tight angle and a crowded box, was testimony to his talent and goal scoring skills.
Esteghlal Found Wanting, Al Nassr Progress
Esteghlal were no match for Cristiano and his team. The Iranian Club struggled to get going and did not pose any threat to Al Nassr. The home team’s victory ensured their qualification to the Quarter Finals of the AFC Champions League Elite.
