A Victory At Vitality
Mo Salah once again reaffirmed his brilliance with a crucial brace against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, where many a team have come and gone, licking their wounds.
Bournemouth – Purposeful But Unlucky
The Cherries were purposeful to say the least and did not let Liverpool dominate in the entire match. In fact there were several instances where Bournemouth should have scored. It was just not their day. Justin Kluivert and the pacy Semenyo from Ghana kept the Liverpool defence and Alisson Becker busy all day. Twice they rattled the cross-bar and on a few occasions more Alisson came up with good saves and Liverpool survived.
Liverpool ‘s Brilliant Sublime Salah
Cody Gakpo was brought down in the Bournemouth box and Mo Salah converted the penalty without a fuss to put Liverpool ahead in the first half. Salah then produced an incredibly sublime finish stamping his authority on the Bournemouth goal from his magical left foot. From a tight angle he just caressed the ball, and placed it away from all the crowd into the net. The hapless Bournemouth defence just watched the ball sail through. It was Salah’s 21st goal of the EPL season so far. Liverpool were up 2-0 in the 75th minute.
A Crucial Three Points For Liverpool
The scoreline remained the same till the end of the match and Liverpool cantered away with crucial 3 points on Match Day 24, opening a decent 9 point lead over second placed Arsenal.
Cherries Live To Fight Another Day
Bournemouth would be gutted for they lost a match which they could have won. No wonder, a brave team they are.
