A Solid Performance From England
England Beat India by 26 runs in the 3rd match of the 5 match T20 series. The match played at Rajkot witnessed a solid performance from England particularly with the ball and India chasing 172 fell short as the batting just tapered off.
Ben Duckett Shines With The Bat
Ben Duckett got a fifty and Liam Livingstone played enterprisingly. And finally the last pair of Adil Rashid and Mark Wood added valuable 24 runs to push the score to 171.
Varun’s Brilliance
Varun Chakravarthy was brilliant and scalped his first 5 wicket haul. He has been outstanding this series. In this match too, he had the English in a bind with his mystery spinners and the slow Rajkot pitch made him even more difficult to play.
Shami Returns
Shami returned for India after a gap of more than a year. He looked fitter and bowled well, though without any luck.
Adil Rashid Gets Tilak Varma With A Beauty
As India began their chase, Sanju Samson perished early yet again and after striking 5 boundaries Abhishek Sharma too returned to the pavilion. Once Adil Rashid came into the attack, the scoring subsided and once Tilak Varma was castled by a beauty from Rashid, India were struggling big time. Rashid’s delivery pitched and turned sharply. Tilak Varma was just late to defend and was bowled on the back foot .
Indian Batting Misfires
Hardik Pandya did offer some resistance but could not take the team home as Axar Patel, Sundar and the out of form Suryakumar Yadav made lowly contributions. England eventually pulled off the win they so desperately wanted.
Varun Chakravarthy POTM
Varun Chakravarthy was declared the Player of the Match for his terrific bowling effort.
The Teams meet next in Pune.
