Mitch Santner will lead a strong 15 member New Zealand squad for the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan next month.
The mini World Cup will feature 8 teams comprising of India, Australia , England, New Zealand, Pakistan , South Africa, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, and is being held after a gap of 8 years.
New Zealand recently sealed the T20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka at home. Santner led the side with distinction drawing praise from all quarters and has been rewarded with captaincy for the ICC Champions Trophy.

The Kiwis look strong both in batting and bowling and would be a tough side to counter in the tournament. Along with Kane Williamson in the middle, the batting would be relying on in-form Will Young Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell and Tom Lathan. The Bowling would be led by Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson and supported by the very impressive Will O’Rourke. Mitch Santner and Glenn Phillips would don the all- rounders role. Taking a holistic view it is a terrific side and the way they have performed in ICC Tournaments, the Kiwis are the Team to Beat.
