An Exhilarating Contest At Anfield on Match Day 16
It was a pulsating night at Anfield as Liverpool played gracious hosts to Fulham, the West Londoners from Craven Cottage. The exhilarating contest ended in a 2-2 draw, Liverpool’s second consecutive draw after a 3-3 fight against Liverpool at St.James’ Park.
Fulham Draw First Blood As Robertson Has A Brain Fade
Fulham were quick to start and with 11 minutes on the clock, a brilliant Iwobi cross saw a fine finish from Pereira and against all expectations Fulham were ahead early in the game. However, Liverpool’s woes had not ended with that goal. 6 minutes later Andrew Robertson in an attempt to take possession rammed into Harry Wilson, a poor tackle it was and after a thorough VAR check, Referee Harrington’s decision of a Red Card to Robertson was upheld.

Arne Slot Put To Test
Harrington did not have a great game and at times Liverpool were at the receiving end of his decisions. Arne Slot, Liverpool’s Manager was clearly unhappy from the side lines and received a yellow card himself. However, Robertson’s departure so early was going to test Slot’s tactical acumen and Liverpool’s grit, and to be fair, both did not disappoint.
The Versatile Gravenberch & A Fine Gakpo Goal
The extremely versatile Gravenberch moved back to double up as a defender and Liverpool moved into a 4-4-1 arrangement. The team got together and early in the second half Cody Gakpo produced a fine header from a precise Salah pass and scored with a brilliant diving effort, sending the house to a rapturous applause.

A Pulsating Draw In The End
Fulham, were not done yet and again the fiery Robinson ran past Alexander Arnold and passed to a waiting Rodrigo Muniz who touched the ball home on the move in the 76th minute. Arne Slot was tested again and he rang in a few quick changes. Nunez and Jota ( returning after injury ) combined to equalise for Liverpool, with Jota burying a fine Nunez pass in the 86th minute. Liverpool had their chances in stoppage time, but just couldn’t put the ball in the net while Alisson Becker too made a fine save to deny Fulham.
A Twist In The Title Tale ?
In the end the match ended in a 2-2 stalemate with Liverpool losing precious 2 points and possibly giving another twist to the title race.
