Liverpool vs Girona in Catalonia
The Match Day 6 of the UEFA Champions League gets underway tonight. Liverpool the table toppers both in the English Premier League and in the Champions League are travelling to Catalonia, Spain, slated to play Girona FC, the tough Spanish Club.
Liverpool Are Favourites
The only team to have won all their 5 fixtures in the Champions League, Liverpool would be looking to keep their slate clean with another victory under their belt. Arne Slot and his team had a tough 3-3 draw at Newcastle a few days ago and though they are playing with a lot of purpose, skill and intent, the draw did expose a few glitches in Liverpool’s armour. However, with their talisman Mo Salah in resplendent form and a decent back line, Liverpool are expected to go all the way against a struggling Girona.

Struggling Girona
The Catalonian Club, were brilliant last year, but this season they have been beset with issues and have been on the receiving end in the La Liga and also in the Champions League. They lost to Real Madrid 0-3 and are placed 7th in the La Liga table. In the Champions league their previous match was a 0-1 loss to Austrian Club SK Sturm Graz and unfortunately find themselves in 30th position in the Champions League. A loss to Liverpool might signal an early exit for Girona.

A Misfiring Unit
Hampered by the absence of their star striker Artem Dovbyk, Girona have been lackluster both in their attacking prowess and goal scoring abilities. Abdel Ruiz and Bojan Miovski too have been below par affecting Girona’s season big time.
Its Liverpool’s Game To Lose
Taking a holistic view it would be fair to say that it is Liverpool’s game to lose. Girona would be required to produce something dramatic to get past Liverpool. It is indeed going to be a good game with a full house expected at the Estadi Montilivi.
