India Win By 295 runs. Australia Capitulate
India skittled out Australia for 238 runs to record a 295:runs massive win over the Aussies at Perth, thus taking a valuable 1-0 lead over the hosts in the 5 match Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Brilliant Bumrah and Jaiswal Architects Of India’s Victory
A brilliant Bumrah with his 8 wickets haul in the Test match and a 161 run belligerence from Yashasvi Jaiswal proved to be the main architect of India’s astounding victory today.
India Win Without Regulars
Coming after a 3-0 whitewash from New Zealand at home and without regular captain Rohit Sharma and seniors like Jadeja, Ashwin and Shami, the beleaguered Indians arrived in Perth and changed everything around. Kudos to the captain Jasprit Bumrah and his incredible spell to have Australia reeling in the first innings, will go down as one of the high points of the series.
Toothless Hapless Aussie Attack
Once the pitch dried up Aussie bowlers appeared toothless and as their shoulders dropped, the Indians cashed in. Jaiswal and Rohit had a double ton partnership and then Kohli scored a much sought after century to completely deny any toe hold for Australia in the match.The Kangaroos had no answers as they struggled with their bowling effort. They were tormented by the Indian batsmen. For the first occasion I have seen such a hapless bowling display by the famed Aussie quartet of Starc, Cummins, Hazelwood and Lyon.
India Dismantle The Famed Australian Grit
The Batting in the second innings of Australia was as nervy as one could imagine and particularly against the guile of Bumrah, the Australian batters appeared all at sea. Bumrah has surely got under their skin which will be a huge advantage for India going forward. Siraj too bowled with a lot of gumption and looked to have got his mojo back. The often talked about Australian grit and toughness were completely non existent in this match . Travis Head and Mitch Marsh did try but then they very well knew the writing on the wall.
India bossed over Australia this test and won with a crunch so to say.
For his incredible bowling and captaincy Jasprit Bumrah very deservedly was adjudged the Player of the Match.
