A Crucial Tie For City and Spurs
The EPL challenge re-ignites today after a two-week International break. It would be Match Day 12, and I am particularly excited about Manchester City hosting Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad in a crucial tie for both teams.
Can Manchester City Buck The Trend
Manchester City have lost their last 4 games including two consecutive games in the EPL a situation unprecedented for the defending Champions. Pep Guardiola has an unusual crisis to handle and all eyes will be on the home team. Can they buck the trend and get on with their winning ways would be the question on everyone’s mind. City are 5 points adrift of leaders Liverpool with Chelsea and Arsenal close on their heels. A victory is critical to keep them close to Liverpool, reverse the losing streak and get some confidence going.
Will Tottenham Hotspur Create A Flutter
Tottenham Hotspur on the other hand are in a position no different from Manchester City having lost 3 of their last 5 EPL games and find themselves in 10th position. A victory tonight would give them some lift in the table. A loss would dent their position further.

The Players to Look Out For City
Erling Haaland had a good outing in the UEFA Nations League and City would be looking forward to him getting back to his scoring heels. A lot has been made of Rodri’s absence and it would be in the best interest of City to start thinking beyond him. Phil Foden too needs to put on a better show and to top it all the porous defense of City has to be plugged. Guardiola would be asking his defenders for a clean slate.
Spurs Need Their Stars to Fire
Son Heung-min, the star for the Spurs is still to play at his best. Solanke and Bentancur need to be at their best if Tottenham are looking for an upset tonight.
It is going to be an intriguing contest. Let’s see who can buck the trend.

I was so surprised. Haaland missed 4 chances. On another he would have easily scored. City’s defense has turned pathetic. The word is spreading fast that City are no longer invincible. How fortunes change. The Liverpool game coming up on the 1st of December is a huge one.
