A Wobbly Aston Villa

Nunez-Salah Seal It For Liverpool
This season under Arne Slot, Liverpool have been particularly good on the break and have been a joy to watch when on a counter attack. The precise passing, the speed, control and eventually the finishing has been of the highest quality. The same was on display last night too. In the 20th minute, the enigmatic Darwin Nunez, pounced on an opportunity after Salah was obstructed on the counter and scored with a perfect finish. The angle, a bit acute though, Nunez managed to put Liverpool ahead. In the 84th minute getting a through ball Salah sprinted across the turf on a quick counter attack and as on most occasions scored with the coolest of heads and perfect finishing, to seal the deal for Liverpool.
Liverpool Consolidate While Villa Slip
Aston Villa enjoyed just 37% of possession, got 3 yellow cards and though they did manage 9 corners, they just could not score. Liverpool’s defense remained stoic and was spot on when required. More was expected from Villa’s strikers Ramsey and Rogers, but it was not their night. With another loss, Aston Villa has slipped to 8th position, a good 10 points behind leaders Liverpool.
