South Africa Win

A resolute South Africa snared an innings victory against Bangladesh at Chattogram a few hours ago and with it an extremely important series win.

Bangla Tigers Implode

Bangladesh with a mountain to climb, imploded on Day 3, losing 16 wickets to the Proteas while following on. The South African bowlers led by the exceptional Kagiso Rabada, were too hot to handle for the Bangla Tigers. Shanto’s men could neither negotiate the pace and seam of Rabada, nor the spin and guile of Keshav Maharaj and the find of the tour Muthusamy.

Bangla Batters Exposed

The Bangla Batters were unfortunately exposed in their technique as well as temperament against a relentless Proteas attack. All the hardwork put in by the team in winning the series against Pakistan seemed to have been vaporised.

A Difficult Pill To Swallow

Taijul Tte Lone Warrior

The body language of the home team both while batting and bowling was extremely questionable. Barring a few good performances particularly from Taijul Islam, there was nothing of any substance from the Bangla Players.

Proteas Shine

The South Africans on the other hand, a bit depleted due to injuries, displayed tremendous determination and a strong will to survive, fight and take the upper hand in not so friendly conditions. Zorzi, Stubbs and Mulder, all three of them recorded their maiden centuries in this test.

Better Prepared South Africans

The Proteas time and again showed that they were better prepared for the contest while the Bangla Tigers, a bit overconfident with their home conditions had no answers when they were hit back by the opposition.

Proteas Remain In The WTC Hunt

With this win the Proteas remain in the hunt for a WTC final berth and have a great chance of further staking their claim with home series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan lined up.  Bangladesh, with back to back series defeats,  is more or less relegated from the race.

A successful tour for South Africa has come to a close with massive positives arising out of it.
