What alternative career paths have you considered or are interested in?
There were times when parents actually decided what their children would study and what vocation they would pursue.
It wasn’t different in my case either, though my father was extremely accommodating. I knew what he expected of me and since I was a decent science student I completed my engineering. Then followed with an MBA in finance and then landed a job in a Bank where I spent several years.
I was a sports enthusiast ( am still now ), reading, dreaming and playing sports. I dreamt of playing in cricket and hockey stadiums and tennis courts. Medicine was another interesting field for me basically due to my interest in Biology. However I ended up being a banker, and not a bad one at that, but my dreams still continued of being associated with sports in some way or the other.
Eventually, after my voluntary retirement from banking I took the cudgels of diving into sports blogging. A totally diverse field from my previous profession. However, working on something which has been a deep rooted ambition is very enjoyable and satisfying. Just that, I hope it brings in the moolah too.
