When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?
The fact that I was the youngest in the family and decently pampered, ensured that I never grew up until of course I started working. However during those times too deep inside I remained the same child as I was.
But then one day, my dear father accidentally fell down and passed away in a couple of months. Right thru his illness and his demise I had considerably grown up. At times, post his death, my mind would just wander here and there as I felt a deep vacuum , a hollowness difficult to explain. I had put up a brave front in those times. A sense of loss was there but more than that there was a weird feeling which I have not been able to fathom.
I had realised one thing though, that I had grown up. I had ‘come of age’.
