On 9th December, Mo Salah scored his 200th goal for Liverpool in a 2-1 win away to Crystal Palace in the English Premier League. The Magician from Nagrig, a village in Egypt, Mo Salah scaled another peak in his already towering, fairytale of a career.

Blessed with amazing ball control, exquisite dribbling skills, speed, incredible marksmanship and clinical finishing, Salah has played a prodigious role in Liverpool’s success in the past 6-7 years and has been an integral part of the Liverpool set-up. Another facet of Salah’s personality and his achievements is the massive inspiration to his fellow Egyptians. His connection with his people is strong and he remains rooted to the place he came from. People in Egypt see a reflection of them in him and claim that what Salah has achieved is their achievement too. Indeed Salah is a national hero who has made the country’s dreams come true. “ He is one of us. He looks like us “, they say. No wonder Salah is the pride of Africa and the Afro-Arab community, not to forget the scores of Liverpool fans that come in hordes to support him.
