‘From Russia with Love’, the second film in the James Bond series starring Sean Connery and Daniela Bianchi was released in 1963 and is considered to be one of the finest films in the James Bond genre.
Bursting with action and intrigue, the film released at the peak of the Cold War with an anti-Soviet storyline and established Sean Connery in the role of James Bond. Daniela Bianchi playing the role of Tatiana Romanova a KGB operative in the film, too had a memorable outing . The film based on the book of the same name by Ian Fleming , was appreciated by J F Kennedy and was one of his favourite books of all time.
However, this blog is not about the film , but about a Russian Tennis player who braved a partisan and an unusually unruly crowd at the Arthur Ashe stadium , Flushing Meadows, New York , and emerged victorious at the US Open Grand Slam Tennis Championships , which concluded this month . He beat a history seeking Novak Djokovic in straight sets , displaying flawless and on occasions sublime tennis to beat a seemingly unbeatable Champion.

Daniil Medvedev, inspite of the crowd supporting Djokovic unanimously, stayed focussed and undithered and eventually was able to win not only the match, but also the hearts of the crowd at the stadium and of sports lovers across the US and the world. His disarming smile at the end of the match was enough to bridge the gap between him and the spectators , who eventually applauded his victory.
58 years after the release of the Film , the world has changed. The cold war has ended , an IT Revolution has taken place , the Globe has shrunk and most certainly Daniil Medvedev, came from Russia with Love and seized the Arthur Ashe Stadium .
Let the Love… spread.
