Bron Breakker already has many of the pieces WWE looks for in a top star: a standout NXT run, main-event experience and a place in one of Raw’s biggest factions. Whether he becomes the face of the company depends on the next year of booking. Here is the case.
The Foundation
Bronson Rechsteiner signed with WWE in February 2021 and wrestled his first match on NXT on September 14, 2021. By 2022 he was NXT Champion, defending the title in main events such as NXT Halloween Havoc. He has since held the Intercontinental Championship twice and the World Tag Team Championship twice.
Main-Event Experience
On January 5, 2026, Breakker challenged CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship in the headline match of the Raw on Netflix anniversary show. He lost, but being chosen for that spot says a lot about how WWE views him. He is also a member of The Vision, alongside Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Austin Theory and Maxxine Dupri.
Where He Stands Now
Breakker and Theory are the current World Tag Team Champions, and they will defend those titles against Penta and Je’Von Evans at Crown Jewel on November 7. The challengers earned the match after beating Breakker and Theory in a non-title tag match on October 5, and Penta pinned Breakker in singles on October 19. Breakker also failed to win the Money in the Bank ladder match on October 10.
What He Still Needs
Recent results show the gap between a strong act and a top-of-the-card position. Paul Heyman has left The Vision, and WWE has used Breakker mainly as a tag champion and enforcer. A clean singles title win and a long run, rather than shared tag gold, would do the most to change that.
The Verdict
The tools are there, and the question is opportunity. Our look at Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes shows how crowded the top of WWE is, which makes his path harder. Still, few younger stars have been given as many big spots.
