A Legendary Warrior Gets a Second Chance
Nia Liston is the main character of the light novel and anime series “Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden” (Kyouran Reijou Nia Liston). She is a legendary warrior who once killed a god. After a lifetime of winning every battle, she is reborn into the weak body of a four-year-old noble girl in a futuristic world.
A Warrior Who Could Not Find a Worthy Death
In her past life, Nia was an undefeated hero. She had even slain a god. Her only regret was that she never found an opponent strong enough to defeat her. She died peacefully in her bed, which was not the warrior’s death she wanted. Her final thought was a wish for a second chance to live and die for battle.
Rebirth Into a Sickly Noble Body
A mysterious healer could not save the original Nia Liston from a fatal respiratory illness. So the healer performed a forbidden ritual to pull a soul from another world to replace her. The soul he pulled belonged to the nameless god-slaying warrior. Nia woke up in the body of a four-year-old girl from a minor noble family. She was trapped in a fragile, chronically ill body that could barely function. Instead of being sad, she was excited. A weak body just meant she had a long way to go before she could fight again. The challenge thrilled her.

Rebuilding Strength Through Chi
To overcome her illness and restore her body’s strength, Nia mastered chi. Chi is a life-force energy she retained from her past life. Using chi, she was able to suppress the disease that was killing her original body. She began rebuilding her physical capabilities from scratch. Despite her tiny, sickly appearance, she kept the combat instincts and skills of a god-slayer. She is a “loli powerhouse” who is far more dangerous than she looks.
A Budding Star in a Futuristic World
Nia’s second life is not just about fighting. As she recovers, she becomes a child star on magivision. Magivision is a new technology in her futuristic world. It is essentially an early form of television. Her family is heavily invested in magivision. Nia uses her growing fame to promote their sets and build the medium’s popularity. Her life becomes a hectic balance. She recovers her combat strength, attends Altoire Academy, films magivision shows, and seeks out strong opponents to fight.
