Zilla Fatu Defeats Lexis King Despite Interference
Zilla Fatu opened WWE NXT with a match against Lexis King. Fatu controlled the early going. Then Birth Right got involved from ringside and shifted the momentum in King’s favour. Fatu took a rough bump to the outside and seemed slow to get up, but he recovered. He took out Birth Right and then did the same to King. After the match, Birth Right was angry and attacked Fatu in a group beatdown. They ended it by slamming steel steps onto his hand.
Dion Lennox Promo on Cruz Montana
Dion Lennox cut a promo backstage. He talked down on Cruz Montana. He said Montana’s parents steered him to the right path and kept him focused. He brought up Montana’s mom being a drug dealer and Cruz being an addict himself. Lennox said Montana might be able to beat his addiction, but he will never beat Lennox. Montana watched the promo backstage. Lizzy Rain pulled up and Montana gave her a pep talk. After she left, TNA Knockouts Champion Xia Brookside appeared and said Montana has changed.
Hank and Tank Advance in Dusty Classic
Hank and Tank defeated Shido Ash and Viktor Zanov by pinfall. Ash and Zanov had a decent showing. They put over the Evolve team on commentary. But Hank and Tank were always going to win clean. They looked good on their way to the pinfall victory. This sets up a showdown with The Creed Brothers in the quarterfinals.
Grayson Waller Promo and Myles Borne Confrontation
WWE NXT Champion Grayson Waller came out to the ring. He said life used to be about likes and swipes, but now it is about fighting for championships. He loved rising to the occasion last week against whoever wanted it most, and that was EK Prosper. He put Prosper over for crushing it in his first main event title match. He then called out someone in the Performance Center for farting on live television.
Borne said he is done doing what is expected of him and is now doing what he wants. It is time to go after the one title he has not held yet. He said what he did to Tavion Heights taught him what he is capable of when he only worries about himself. Waller was putting him over for the new attitude when Tony D’Angelo showed up. D’Angelo claimed they have unfinished business. Waller suggested D’Angelo and Borne figure out who is next for him among themselves next week. Myles cheap-shotted Tony D to end the segment.

Shiloh Hill vs. Naraku Ends in Chaos
Shiloh Hill faced Naraku in WWE NXT. It was a slow match, with both men working holds early. During a split-screen commercial break, Naraku threw Hill to the outside under the ropes, and it looked like Hill bounced his skull. Late in the match, Hill blocked the mist by grabbing Naraku’s face. Then he dropped his hands. Naraku did not use the mist. They took too long to set up getting in position so that Naraku could spit the mist on the referee. They called for the bell and then fought to the back.
Birth Right Defeats Tokyo Bad Boys
Birth Right defeated Tokyo Bad Boys by pinfall. Because of Birth Right’s attack earlier in the night and Regal leaning on Stone, they were placed in the final first-round match of the Dusty Classic. Dempsey and King won the match in relatively short order. The Bad Boys got a high spot or two, but they were never winning. Dempsey took Vic Joseph’s mic to say Birth Right is taking everyone out.
Wren Sinclair Wins Battle Royal
Wren Sinclair won the battle royal. The big angle at the start was Zaria eliminating Izzi Dame. Dame was so angry she had to be stopped by multiple officials from getting involved again. Reina Volcan hit a double elimination shortly after. Arianna Grace had a deeply unserious exit courtesy of The Elegance Brand, who were themselves both tossed seconds later. Volcan was taken out by a group of women in the next big elimination. She was presented as a monster but did not get nearly a big enough run in the match.
In a hilarious moment, Dame ran back into the match to try to toss Zaria and got tossed again. Of course, it worked out for her, as Zaria was dumped while taunting her. Indi Hartwell was tossed by Brookside to continue their issues coming from TNA. Thea Hail was eliminated in an all-timer of the dumbest ass moment.
The big finish came when it looked like Kali Armstrong and Lizzy Rain were fighting on the apron for the right to win the match. Armstrong got the better of it. When she got back in the ring and went to the turnbuckle to celebrate, Lady Shani rushed her from behind and threw her out. Then, she took off the mask to reveal it was Wren Sinclair all along. She was announced as the winner and will face Jordan for the title.
