Opening Segment – Zilla Fatu and Tristan Angels Confrontation
WWE NXT opened with Zilla Fatu coming to the ring and addressing his loss at Heatwave. He said he was hoping to be NXT Champion but it did not go his way, though he felt amazing just fighting for a championship in a WWE ring. Tristan Angels interrupted and insulted Fatu, claiming he does not look like, carry himself like, or live like a champion. Fatu responded by mocking Angels as Gangrel Jr. and suggested beating him in front of his family. Angels rushed him but Fatu quickly got the better of him and sent him to the floor.
Singles Match – Naraku vs. Shiloh Hill
Naraku and Shiloh Hill opened the night with a physical contest. Naraku targeted Hill’s throat with chops and smashed his face into the announce desk and apron. Hill made a comeback with a scoop slam and an imploding senton for a nearfall. Naraku used a throat thrust and a spinebuster for another nearfall. Hill countered with a pop-up headbutt, but Naraku faked a mist spit and rubbed it into Hill’s face instead. Naraku won by pinfall with Enter the Abyss.
Tag Team Match – Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy vs. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno
The match began with trading arm drags and lucha moves. Van Dux hit a lariat and a diving moonsault, but Dar broke up the pin. Legacy countered an armbar by powerbombing Dar into Moreno. Van Dux accidentally wiped out his own partner with an Asai moonsault. Dar and Moreno hit a missile dropkick and Tower of London combination for a nearfall. In the end, Dar rolled Legacy into a pinning predicament to secure the win. After the match, The Creed Brothers hit the ring and attacked Dar and Moreno, hitting a Brutus Ball and powerbomb combination.
Zaria Vacates Title and Birth Right Segment
Backstage on WWE NXT, Zaria gave up the WWE Speed Women’s Championship to Robert Stone. Stone turned to Lexis King and Birth Right and said that meant the Speed Men’s Championship was also defunct. King reluctantly hung over the title but complained that Stone could not take their birthright from them. Cruz Montana then asked for a title match, and Stone told him Grayson Waller would address everyone later. Keanu Carver told Stone it sucks to be him right now.
Kelani Jordan Promo and Jaida Parker Confrontation
Newly-crowned NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan came to the ring and said she told everyone what would happen at Heatwave. She said she earned the title and did not need “you deserve it” chants. She mentioned that Kendal Grey is in the hospital after their match and said whenever Grey wants her rematch, the results will be the same. Jaida Parker interrupted and said she also called her shot at Heatwave and has already beaten Kelani before. Parker challenged Jordan for a title match that night. Jordan said she is a fighting champion but not tonight, agreeing to face Parker next week.
Singles Match – Thea Hail vs. Nikkita Lyons
Hail started with a Lou Thesz Press and mounted punches. Lyons took control with a catapult into the middle rope and applied a camel clutch. Hail countered with a senton and a running snap-swinging neckbreaker for a nearfall. Lyons hit a German suplex and a Tiger Driver attempt was countered into a rana pin. Hail ducked a Vader Bomb and hit the senton for the pinfall victory.
Singles Match – Mason Rook vs. Kam Hendrix
Mason Rook blindsided Kam Hendrix during his entrance and laid him out before the bell. Rook dominated early with a scoop slam and senton. Hendrix fought back and sent Rook into the steel steps. Hendrix hit a senton of his own and a jumping punch for nearfalls. Rook hit a crossbody block and a Blue Thunder Driver for a nearfall. Hendrix removed a turnbuckle pad, but Rook sent him chest-first into the exposed steel. Rook finished with a fireman’s carry spinebuster for the win.
Singles Match – Zilla Fatu vs. Tristan Angels
Angels took control early with a back elbow and posed. Fatu fought back with headbutts, a Stinger Splash, and a back body drop. Angels sent Fatu into the bottom rope and hit an enzuigiri that sent him to the floor. After a commercial break, both men traded strikes. Angels hit a lungblower for another nearfall. Fatu hit a pop-up Samoan drop and finished with a leaping punch called Triple Z for the win. After the match, Birth Right came to the stage and offered Fatu an invitation to join them. Fatu responded with a hell no, superkicked Lexis King when he grabbed him, and made his escape.
Grayson Waller Promo and Contenders Brawl
NXT Champion Grayson Waller came to the ring with Robert Stone. Waller mocked Vic Joseph’s commentary and said winning the NXT Championship meant more to him than his previous accomplishments. He thanked himself for taking the risk to come back and win the title. He questioned who would be the one to beat him, dismissing Zilla Fatu, Cruz Montana, and Tony D’Angelo.
Saquon Shugars interrupted and said he could be the one. Cruz Montana came through the crowd and said Waller did not beat him three weeks ago or at Heatwave. EK Prosper also arrived and said he has been turning heads. Mason Rook entered and said Waller has pissed off everyone in the back. Tony D’Angelo demanded his rematch. Robert Stone then booked the six-man tag match, and a brawl broke out to end WWE NXT.
