Fired Up Liverpool Ready To Take On PSG Tonight

Dominik Szoboszlai

A 0-2 deficit notwithstanding, Liverpool are more than eager to take on the defending Champions PSG in the 2nd leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final at Anfield tonight.

” I am ready to die on the pitch ” are the words spoken by Dominik Szoboszlai is an indication of the mental make-up of Liverpool. He further adds, ” I can speak for all the players. We want it so bad, and we will work for it. Anything can happen at Anfield “.

The mood is defiant at Liverpool. The victory against Fulham at the weekend has certainly given the Reds the belief of putting up a good show against PSG and even turning the tables on the Frenchmen.

Liverpool may start with a similar line-up as they did against Fulham to keep the momentum going. PSG would be wary of playing at Liverpool and would be wary of the mood at Anfield.

PSG, though, have the advantage, not only of a two-goal lead but also of good memories when they visited Liverpool last year. A narrow win on penalties it was, after PSG had lost the first leg 0-1 in Paris. It indeed was a terrific turnaround for PSG. The French Club carried the momentum right up to the Finals and won the Champions League.

Liverpool have the home advantage, but to overturn a 2-0 deficit will take a lot out of Arne Slot’s side. Luis Enrique is a fine strategist and will not give in that easily.

PSG may just make it.
