Ind vs Eng 3rd Test : A Humdinger Unfolding

india vs england - a humdinger awaits

India vs England : A Great Day Awaits

India, with brilliant bowling, had skittled out England for just 192 in the second innings. The target of 193 was looking absolutely gettable despite the pitch beginning to misbehave. However, the English bowlers appeared to be of a different kind, and they forged their way into the match in the last hour before stumps on Day 4 of the test at Lord’s.

Sensational Sundar Puts India In Command

Earlier, Washington Sundar virtually cemented his place in the side for the rest of the series with a sensational bowling effort to turn the match  India’s way. His accuracy and the deadly drift in the air were too hot to handle for the English batters. Root, Jamie Smith, Ben Stokes, and Shoaib Bashir were all cleaned up in a magical spell by Sundar.

Bumrah Brilliant Too…

Bumrah too got the better of Chris Woakes and Brydon Carse as he castled them with a couple of peach balls of his own. India had achieved a stranglehold on the test. The target was reachable, and a victory at Lord’s appeared a reality.

But England Respond In Kind As Jaiswal Falls For Duck

Cricket, however, is an unpredictable game, and the English bowlers, for once, appeared fired up as India took guard in the second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal could not control the hook of a fierce Jofra Archer bouncer and perished for a duck in the second over.

Brydon Carse Removes Nair & Gill In A Terrific Spell

KL Rahul and Karun Nair steadied the ship a bit, but Brydon Carse was in a totally different avatar. He bowled with great energy as the crowd got behind their team to build up a heated atmosphere at Lord’s. Karun Nair wasted another opportunity as he shouldered arms to an indipper to be adjudged lbw. Shubman Gill too didn’t last long as the hostile bowling from Carse got the Indian skipper.

Stokes Castles Akash Deep To Forge England’s Return

With just a couple of overs to go, Akash Deep was sent in as night watchman. Ben Stokes produced a beauty of a delivery to knock over his off stump in the last over of the day. With 58/4 at the end of the day’s play, England had staged a remarkable recovery.

A Humdinger Waiting To Unravel

With 6 wickets in hand and another 135 runs to get, the match is still within India’s reach with the kind of batting still to come. England, on the other hand, would give their all to get the 6 wickets. It might just be a humdinger waiting to unravel on the last day.

What a test match!
