In what is expected to be a real humdinger, Liverpool are hosting Newcastle tonight, a contest between two red hot teams at the moment in the EPL this season.
Newcastle, though, will be tough opponents to league leaders Liverpool, the recent form of the Magpies is a reason to worry. The last two games have resulted in a close win against Nottingham Forest and another in a brutal decimation at the hands of Manchester City a few days ago.
The Magpies have conceded 7 goals in their last two EPL matches and though they have scored 4, the barrage of goals against them is a clear indication of a faltering defence. However their brilliantly striking forwards in Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Murphy gives them hope to surprise Liverpool.
Liverpool on the other hand are moving from strength to strength after a crucial 2-0 win over City in Manchester on the previous weekend. The win against the defending Champions would have further fortified their belief in their title race.
Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota would be tough to counter upfront for Newcastle and with a strong midfield and a strong defence in the hands of Virgil van Dijk, the Reds look favourites at the moment.
With Anfield backing its team to the hilt, Magpies would be required to play out of their skins to beat a belligerent, fiery and self believing Liverpool.
