IND vs ENG: India Thrash England, Win ODI Series 3-0

Poor England

IND vs ENG 3rd ODI: The odds were against England when they came to Indian shores, but no one had expected that they would be so pathetic with their performances with both bat and ball. The Indians played brilliantly and were clinical in decimating England.

A Whitewash By India

The English lost the T20 series 1-4 and were completely outplayed by a superior Indian team in the ODIs. The result, a 3-0 whitewash of the visitors, losing the last game today with a massive 142 runs.

Marvellous Shubhman

The match played out in Ahmedabad belonged to Shubhman Gill who showcased a stroke full innings of 112 of 102 balls studded with 14 fours and 2 sixes. Gill was a treat to watch with sublime touches, lovely timing and impeccable placements. He was fluidic and completely effortless. Gill along with Shreyas Iyer ( 78 ) and Virat Kohli ( 52 ) ensured that India reached a massive 356 in their allotted quota.

Lacklustre Bowling From England

The Bowling from England was once again below barring Adil Rashid ( who scalped 4 today) and Mark Wood. Gus Atkinson who had been playing well in Test Matches got some severe punishment and went for more than 9 runs an over. Liam Livingstone never looked like an International bowler and got the pasting he deserved. It was an extremely lacklustre bowling effort from England right through their tour.

A Grossly Underperforming England Batting

With a huge task facing them, England’s already underperforming batting line up wilted once Ben Duckett gave it away after a fine start. Joe Root, Tom Banton, Jos Buttler and the much celebrated Harry Brook succumbed to some accurate Indian bowling and poor shot making. The much hyped Livingstone too came and went. Gus Atkinson did have some fun in the end, but it was all too little too late.

Brilliant Indian Bowling

The entire Indian bowling attack contributed. Harshit Rana once again impressed in his second spell picking crucial wickets of Jos Buttler and Harry Brook. Rohit Sharma deployed 6 bowlers and all of them were amongst the wickets. Finally, Axar Patel ( who too was brilliant right through) wrapped it up to give India another series victory at home.

India’s Second Biggest Win Over England

India handed over England their second biggest defeat in terms of runs against India.

The preparation for India for the Champions Trophy has gone the way they wanted with the majority of the boxes ticked including a century for Rohit Sharma. The team must be full of confidence going into the ICC Tournament. The same obviously cannot be said of the English Team. They played poorly and have themselves to blame if their morale has suffered just before the big tournament.

Shubhman Gill Takes All The Honours

Shubhman Gill for his spectacular performance in the match today and in the series overall has been adjudjed  the Player Of The Match and of The Series.
