India Romp Home
India made light work of 249 set by England and romped home with 4 wickets in hand and 11.2 overs to spare.
England Start Well But Slip
England started well with the bat. Phil Salt and Ben Duckett put on a 75 run stand before the first turning point of the match happened. Salt got runout and England began to slide. Two runs later Duckett holed out to a brilliant catch by Jaiswal and Harry Brook perished for a duck gloving a quick delivery from Harshit Rana to KL Rahul.
Loose Play From England As India Capitalise
Joe Root was adjudged lbw to Jadeja and though Jos Butler and young Jacob Bethell steadied the innings and scored important half centuries, the England innings had already lost momentum. Liam Livingstone the most inconsistent of England players perished playing a wild hoic. Brydon Carse was no different and England perished for 248 after a terrific start. An opportunity gone down the drain.
Rohit Falls Cheaply But India Bat Well To Win
As India began to reply, Rohit Sharma’s woeful form continued and he went just for 2. Shreyas Iyer smacked a whirlwind 50 and then a century stand between Shubham Gill (87) and Axar Patel (52), ensured an easy win for India. Barring Adil Rashid, none of the England bowlers impressed.
Shubham Gill won the Player of the Match award.
