Tottenham’s Mood Swings
I have not come across a team which can have wild mood swings. From being exquisitely brilliant to being outright pathetic in a small phase of time can happen only to Tottenham Hotspur. With their Manager Ange Postecoglou virtually tearing his hair at the sight of his team falling into unimaginable depths from towering positions, Tottenham somehow managed to not lose to Manchester United at the Hotspur Stadium in the quarter final of the EFL Carabao Cup.
Dominic Solanke Scores a Brace
Tottenham dominated most of the match and by the time the game reached 55 minutes on the clock, the Spurs were 3-0 ahead and were coasting to victory. Dominic Solanke had scored a brace and Kulusevski had got on the score sheet too. All three goals were well orchestrated team goals and bore testimony to the goal scoring ability of Tottenham Hotspur. However what followed was nothing short of appalling.

An Appalling Display By Tottenham As Man United Capitalise
Fraser Foster, Tottenham’s goalkeeper, unfortunately found himself at the centre of two mega callous periods of play. In the 63rd minute a lazy pass to Fraser ( when the ball could have been easily played out into the field ), followed by Foster taking an age to get rid of it, led to Zirkzee seizing the ball and scoring. 7 minutes later, a lazy back pass to Foster from almost midfield, again found Foster taking that wee bit extra to get rid of the ball. Amad Diallo rushed in to challenge Foster and the ball ricocheted from Amad’s shoes into the Hotspur goal. It was a terrible sight for a Hotspur fan. The look on Foster’s face said it all. He wanted to hide, but there was no place to go. Postecoglou stood in stoic regret. The score was 3-2 now.

The Brilliance Of Son To The Rescue
The dependable Son Heung-min took a brilliant corner kick in the 88th minute and curled it straight into United’s goal. Altay Bayindir, United’s Goalkeeper delayed his jump by a second and the ball sailed over his outstretched hand into the net. It was a majestic strike from the Korean. Man United got one back again when Jonny Evans scored in stoppage time, but Tottenham held their nerves to come out with a 4-3 win.
Tottenham To Meet Liverpool Next
Tottenham huffed and puffed to cross the finish line and are drawn to meet Liverpool in the semi-final.
An unusual match for the usual Tottenham Hotspur.
