A Defining Moment
The whole country rejoiced and the world applauded as Chandrayaan-3’s Lander ‘ Vikram ‘ made a perfectly orchestrated soft landing on the South Pole of the Moon, at 6.04 pm on the 23rd of August’ 23. The date would be carved in stone marking a defining moment in India’s growing prowess in Space and Lunar Exploration.
Load of Expectations & Unrelenting Focus
The last few minutes of the landing were tense as a series of complex manoeuvres and real-time decisions were made to ensure an error-free culmination of the mission. Eventually, years of painstaking hard work, unrelenting focus with a huge baggage of expectations, had borne fruit. ISRO’s dedicated scientists and engineers had pulled off a remarkable feat, propelling India into a select band of nations with unmatched achievements.
The Humble Achievers
The success was so phenomenal it was natural for the several officers in ISRO, who were part of the mission to exude irrepressible joy, which they did. However, the humility on their faces was staggering. Simple, unassuming people who were living Chandrayaan-3 day in and day out for 4 years, still appeared so grounded. S Somanath, Chairman of ISRO, P Veeramuthuvel, the Project Director and Kamala, the Associate Project Director of Chandrayaan-3, the main architects of the mission were calm as ever and paid rich tributes to their teams, who worked tirelessly in pursuance of excellence.
A Tribute to Our Educational Institutions
Another aspect of Chandrayaan-3’s success has been the sheer depth in quality of our Educational Institutions. They have been the bedrock of unprecedented technological advancement in our country and the disruption they have brought in, is a testament to India’s growing influence as a serious digital power. In no uncertain terms, if anyone in our country has the ability and a ferocious zeal to learn, there is someone, somewhere ready to teach, however exclusive the subject may be. This is true success.
Gaganyaan
As India basks in the glory of Chandrayaan-3, teams in ISRO are already working round the clock on Gaganyaan, to make sure an Indian lands on the moon soon.
Wishing them Luck !!
