Sport is reality, however there are people so enamoured and motivated by sport that their creative juices are able to weave fiction around this reality of sport.
Dr Mustafa Donmez, a passionate follower of football and of Liverpool Football Club has penned down a fictional story with Liverpool FC at the heart of it. His writing is crisp, has a fine flowing texture, exudes research and above all makes you feel his deeply embedded love for Liverpool FC.

Dr Donmez, a highly educated Entrepreneur has crafted his novel, perfectly suitable for some highly engaging and interesting reading. Though we live in different continents, the love of sport and Liverpool in particular binds us together and therefore it is my privilege to write about Dr Donmez’s novel on my website.
Please find below some Excerpts from the book, which is available on Amazon.
“The team spirit of the Liverpool football squad began to develop gradually. Players abandoned their personal principles and had got a common system of values. With every goal scored and goal conceded, the ice among the players has defrosted. They were happy for the developments that were good for Liverpool FC and they were sorry for the bad developments of the club. In time, they have lost their personalities and begun to resemble each other. As the team became united, the supporters started to be united with the team. When a Liverpool footballer got a kick in the pitch, the supporters on the stand suffered. Actually, there are two Liverpools: Liverpool as a football team and Liverpool in the hearts. The first was the source of inspiration of the second with its colours, history, and identity. The first Liverpool was a wizard who lead the second one comprising of millions of people thirsty for love and victory, a flock of volunteers looking for a purpose they wanted to sacrifice their lives for, an army of butterflies that would add a meaning to their lives by flying toward the fire and ending their lives, the lovers who died for a poem like all the lovers of Cleopatra”.
Red-White Love: The Love of Liverpool FC, pp. 90-91 – Mustafa Donmez
Red-White Love , is an extremely honest attempt.
